7 Gateways of the spine

The brain and spinal cord are the master controllers of our body. When inflammation, restricted movement, or injury disrupts the spine, it can create "spinal blockages." These blockages interfere with communication between the brain and body, leading to various health issues.

The 7 Gateways of the Spine is a framework developed by Dr. Carli Axford. Each gateway corresponds to a specific spinal region and influences different body functions.

Spinal Flow Practitioners can identify blockages in the 7 gateways through 3 types of assessment- Posture, gateway (series of simple movements), and palpation assessment. For instance, a forward head posture might indicate a blockage in the "passion" gateway. Through these assessments, we are able to get to the root cause of the client’s pain, dis-ease or illness as each gateway is associated with specific symptoms and feelings. A headache might signal a blockage in the "pause" gateway, affecting the neck and head. Lower back pain, IBS, or fertility issues could point to a blockage in the "power" gateway, related to digestion and reproduction.

Releasing spinal blockages and activating the spinal wave can transform the body. By shifting from a stress response to a healing one, the nervous system can function optimally, promoting overall health and well-being.
